Welcome to my parenting world!
My name is Caroline and I am a Parenting Consultant and Early Years Practitioner.
I love supporting families (and sometimes other childcare professionals) in their adventures with babies and children and I feel so priviledged to be invited to share brief moments of many children's lives through the support and guidance I offer. You are all the experts on your own children but parenting can be hard, and we often no longer have the support networks in place that we would have had many moons ago. So, I invite you into my world, to share with you my thoughts and insights on the challenges and the joys that you may face as you build relationships with these wonderfully precious little humans. I would love to hold your hand and remind you what an incredible job you are doing, and that you are not alone!
So, other than the above, what are the main things that I would like you to know about who I am and how I work?
There is lots of information about myself and how you can work with me on my website here:

I love to learn – I love to learn for you and from you! I love learning to listen to and hear a child in all the ways that they communicate – both verbal and non-verbal.
I love to be in collaboration with colleagues rather than in competition – I will always say if I feel I am not the right professional to support your needs, and I will take the time to help you find someone who can.
I believe in stripping back parenthood, in supporting parents to listen to their instincts and have the confidence to parent their child in a way that is aligned with their own values, which may not be the same as your neighbour, family member or friend.
I will not make any promises, as this may lead you to believe that you are either a success or a failure.
I will listen to you without judgement after all we are all just trying our best with the tools that we have available – myself included!
I will be in your corner as someone you can turn to when things feel a real struggle but also when you want to shout about how great things are going too!
I am not the best at keeping things brief!
5 things that you may not know about me:
I live in France – but I work remotely with clients around the world and do home visits in both the UK and France (depending on where I am at the time!) I have lived here for more than half my life; I have dual nationality and I speak fluent French.
I experienced lots of intrusive thoughts after my pregnancy, it was horrible to have some of these thoughts and I talk openly about this because so many people don’t and so it can be seen as a bit of a taboo. Intrusive thoughts postpartum can be a sign of, or a contributing factor towards Post Natal Depression and Postpartum Anxiety and so please do speak to a trusted health care provider about these. In my case they mainly came when I was tired and went when I was better rested and did not translate into anything more.
I took up sport when I turned 40 – I was always quite active, I loved swimming and walking, but the thought of doing a gym class scared the life out of me. Now I love them and actively seek them out!
I am terrible at knitting! My godmother is a whizz with the knitting needles and we all wear her wonderful handknits. I would so love to be able to knit like her but I still have not been able to progress from a scarf (i.e., a long rectangle) that is definitely not straight sided and is full of holes!
My grandmother lived to be 105. She was a huge inspiration in my life. She was kind, and strong (even in her most vulnerable moments … especially in them) and she inspired many children over her teaching career.
5 things about the way I work:
I don’t use a one size fits all approach. Every family is unique and so I adapt my approach accordingly. Of course, there will be a similar theme running through the way I work (responsive, evidence based etc…)
I love CPD (continued professional development!) It is a really integral part of how I work. Knowledge is always evolving, I take training courses, read research papers, read books and discuss issues with other professionals in order to update my knowledge and I see my way of practicing evolve over time.
I am transparent about my fees – they are on my website and I am very open about them. A little reminder – to some, my hourly rate may seem high, or my monthly packages expensive however these prices do not just reflect the hours I am actually physically talking to you or writing your emails, they take into consideration the many hours each week I spend on the admin around running my business, research I do to keep my knowledge up to date (which has a cost implication in the cost of training course, books etc).
I volunteer at a local parent and baby group and love being hands on with the families and the children, it is hugely rewarding especially as at times we are working with families with complex needs. But I find all the work I do immensely rewarding too!
I only take on a certain number of clients at any one time so that I have the capacity needed to give them the support that they need.
